Today in math: We got the out line of what we will be doing this year, as well as our text books. We were also shown this website, and signed up for our class Edmodo page. *Remember to bring graph paper to out next class.*
Today in math we watched Donah's video and we also did a few questions on are of a square/rectangle. Our homework is to find out what the formula for the area of a circle, square and a parallelograhm.
Today in class... We did a homework check, make sure you always remember to do your homework. We learned about the formula of a square, remember if you have any questions make sure you ask, better safe than sorry. We went up to the math lab, and logged onto IXL, try not to forget your password. On IXL we did exercises for square root, integers, and area of a rectangle/square. Always remember to never forget what you learn in class.
Today in class we mainly went over our formulas to find area for circles. During the second period we were in the computer lab and we practiced our formulas again, and went onto IXL.
Today in class we learned about tables of values and substitution which is replacing a letter with a number. We also learned about ordered pairs and we had homework on page 157 where we had to finish 4 table of value charts.
Today in math, we continued on learning about the pythagorean theorem. We did some examples on the smart board and then we got assigned page 207, questions 1-8 in the text book. Today, we also learnt the equation for solving a or b instead of c. The equation for that is c2 - a2 = b2. For finding out what c is the equation is a2+b2=c2. Remember to finish page 207 if you did not finish in class!
Today, we have been working on turning a percent into a number
First, you take the percent, and turn it into a decimal by dividing by 100 or moving the decimal 2 places to the left. Then, you times it by the number.

EX: 25% of 30
0.25 x 30 = 7.5
